Lamborghini debuted its hardcore Aventador SVJ Roadster at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, but it wasn’t destined to be the final roofless hurrah of the mighty V12 supercar. Enter the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, and no, it’s not an ode to Mercedes-AMG. In this instance, 63 represents the year in which Lamborghini was founded, 1963 to be exact. Alongside the special Aventador is another snazzy Lambo called the Huracán EVO GT Celebration, both of which just debuted at Pebble Beach.

We’ll talk more about the Huracán Evo in a bit, but first, the big Aventador commands attention. This special edition pulls from Lamborghini’s personalization program, which basically offers a nearly endless selection of color and trim options for Aventador purchasers. As such, the SVJ 63 Roadster comes straight from Lamborghini with the choice of eight new exterior and interior combinations, along with the requisite badging identifying each car in the production cue.

That’s significant because only 63 will be produced – another ode to when Lamborghini opened its doors. Yes, it’s just an appearance package, but the SVJ can already turn a sub-seven-minute lap at the Nürburgring. What more do you want?

Meanwhile, the Aventador’s little brother also wears a special makeover. In this instance, a celebration is indeed the word, as the special edition Huracán pays homage to the car’s racing success in North America. Specifically, the Huracán has seen victory lane at both the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring for two consecutive seasons, and Lamborghini is keen to mark the occasion with a properly green livery emblazoned with all kinds of special touches. It also gets the same V10 from the race car, and it’s only available in North America.

Both vehicles are on display this weekend at The Quail for Monterey Car Week.
