Koenigsegg Bringing Two New Regeras And Rare 2006 CCX To Geneva
The Koenigsegg Regera’s batteries are designed to deliver uncompromising performance. It doesn’t come cheap. In fact, according to Jonas Voss, Director, EV Propulsion Systems, the Regera’s battery costs 100 times more than a regular battery pack you would find in an EV. Similar cells are used in modern Formula 1 cars.

Koenigsegg sources the special batteries from Rimac. Apparently, these are cells are so specialized that even Rimac doesn’t use it the C_Two electric hypercar. There are 6 modules of 64 cells inside the carbon fiber housing. It is mounted in the center of the car in order to keep the center of gravity low. The batteries alone generate around 700 hp.

The Regera also uses a twin-turbo V8 engine and three electric motors. The combined output of the hybrid system is 1500 hp and 1500 lb-ft of torque, which enables the car to hit 0-400 km/h in less than 20 seconds.
