Muscle Car? Sports Car? Maybe both and more… Finale Speed, a premier custom car manufacturer and restorer fueled by innovation, has unveiled its latest creation, “Viral.” The production-ready 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is the world’s first exposed-weave carbon-fiber ’69 Camaro, merging classic lines with modern materials, drivetrain, chassis, and suspension.

Viral’s debut will be at the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, January 21-29 at Westworld. Carbon Fiber Body Viral’s fully custom carbon-fiber body is engineered to OE specifications using prepreg autoclave-cured carbon fiber to deliver maximum lightness while retaining rigidity and strength. The body is covered with BASF Glasurit Clear to show off its modern craftsmanship, while LED lighting, flush-mounted glass, and billet hinges and handles round out the exterior finishes.

Custom Cockpit: The custom interior is appointed with VXR seats and Alcantara-covered door panels from TMI, an Alcantara headliner, gauges by Classic Instruments, and an Old Air Products climate-control system. Entertainment features an Alpine head unit with a Mosconi five-channel amp Focal speakers and a subwoofer.

A custom-built four-point rollbar adds protection, while a carbon rear-seat delete sheds additional weight. Drivetrain The lightweight body sits atop a modern drivetrain, chassis, and suspension. A GM Performance LT4 crate engine with a Wegner pulley system delivers 650 horsepower, with fuel management handled by GM and a VaporWorx fuel pump. A trunk-mounted OPTIMA battery, American Autowire harness, and GM ignition handle electrical duties.

Ultimate Headers' stainless-steel long-tube headers and a custom-fabricated exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers deliver Viral’s soundtrack. A Tremec T-56 Super Magnum six-speed manual transmission and a 9-inch rear end with Positraction LSD and Dutchman axles transfer power to the ground.

Front and rear Speedtech sub-frames, oversized sway bars, and JRi coilovers provide handling. The 18×10.5-inch front and 18×12-inch rear Forgeline three-piece VX3C-SL wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888R rubber and big Wilwood calipers with 14-inch slotted, cross-drilled, and vented rotors haul Viral to a stop.

Modern-Day Interpretation: The Finale Speed team continues to innovate by interpreting and modernizing America’s most iconic muscle cars in a way that exceeds client expectations. The 1969 Camaro has long been an icon of style and performance, and Viral takes that to the next level. With its full carbon-fiber body, modern drivetrain, and bespoke interior, Viral represents a classic muscle-turned supercar for the modern performance era. The Viral 1969 Camaro is available as a roller body or turnkey finished vehicle.
